Cité internationale de la langue française

In the very château where François I made French the official language of the realm in 1539, the Cité internationale de la langue française stages that language in light, sound and projection — the first permanent museum entirely devoted to it.

Designed by scenographer Projectiles for the Centre des monuments nationaux, the 1,200 m² tour runs on more than sixty interactive devices: a spectacular 360° dome tracing the journey of words across the centuries, reconstructed historical voices, and interactive luminaires that give voice to France’s regional languages. The visitor is sometimes spectator, sometimes actor.

Onlyview delivered the audiovisual integration behind it — ten media servers handling warping and blending across the dome and screens, with Notch gateways driving the interactive pieces. One of the largest museum-sector deployments Onlyview has run, calibrated to play reliably, every day, as a permanent installation.
