Serenissimersivo — Galeries Bartoux Venice

Galeries Bartoux — the international fine-art gallery — chose Venice for its first Italian address, and made it far more than a gallery. At the foot of the Accademia Bridge, a landmark cinema that went dark in 2002 has been brought back to life as the gallery’s centrepiece: the Accademia Cinemersiva, a 500 m² immersive hall rising some twelve metres under the original roof frame, with its wooden beams and exposed stone preserved.

For the opening, Galeries Bartoux commissioned Serenissimersivo — an animated tribute to Salvador Dalí in which Venice itself liquefies into a surrealist dream. Created by studio Superbien, it reanimates Dalí sculptures shown physically in the gallery, playing not on a single screen but across walls, ceiling and floor, so the line between the real artwork and the projected dream dissolves.

Onlyview drove the full-surround projection for Galeries Bartoux — five media servers blending a dozen-plus projectors into one seamless, all-enveloping image. The gallery is built to rotate two original shows a year, so it had to be a platform, not a one-off.
