Collaboration

Working on a show together

On large shows, the operator using Producer can become the bottleneck. Onlyview lets multiple operators work on the same show at the same time, from different machines.

There are two options, depending on the needs:

  • Multi-Producer : Each operator can open the normal Producer application, for instance from their laptops, and connect to the main one. Each person can control the whole show: timelines, boards, 2D and 3D previews, devices, UserScreens. Everything anyone does appears immediately on every other machine, and on the Media Servers. This is the right tool for a second programmer, or for a calibration operator who needs the whole application.

  • WarpNet : This simplified tool allows technicians to deform output and cues, on-stage, where they can actually see best. This is a simple web page that can be accessed from any tablet connected to the network's wifi.

Info

Do not confuse this with Main and Backup Producer, which also connects two Producers. There, the second Producer drives a second set of Media Servers, as a redundant copy of the whole system.

Who owns the show

Whichever tool is used, one machine remains the reference: the Main Producer. It is the one holding the show file, the one connected to the Media Servers, and the one every change goes through. All others are guests, or "remote controls".
